Power Series Part 42: Power Of Worry

Play for the Audio Version
I confess I am a worrier. I worry too much about everything and I shouldn't. I know I shouldn't. People tell me that I should not worry so much. My husband oftentimes says to me relax! My friends and family say, "don't worry so much. Just take a deep breath, don't be so frustrated because everything will be okay. Maybe, relax!" How would they know! Right?
Are they healthy enough. Worried about death? Etc. I am sure you guys can fill in the blank.

Let me end the writing with this deep thought. It makes sense worrying is a sin because it is doubting the power or authority and righteousness of God.

Oh, now I get it. I was had at the word "doubting." Doubting God is a no no! God does not like it! Therefore we should not do that.

In Matthew 6:25, 31-34, Jesus stated three times, “Do not worry!” What is interesting is the Greek word used for “worry” is the concept of being stifled or the feeling of being suffocated. It leaves you frustrated when you ought to feel free and if you are His disciple, then you really shouldn't worry.

Let's pray. Heavenly Father, I am truly sorry for worrying about the simplest of things. Forgive me Lord for worryg so much! Thank you for (telling us in your word that we shouldn't worry and why we shouldn't worry. Help us Lord to always remember that we really don't have to worry. For it says in your word to cast all anxiety on you  because you care for us. We love you Lord. We pray all these things in Jesus' name Amen!

Jason Gray: Sparrows

Philippians 4:6‭-‬7 ESV

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:27

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life
