Power Series Part 86: Power Of Talking

Play for the Audio Version

How funny the Lord is for putting in my heart that I need to write about something that is so near and dear to my heart. Sometimes I just don't know when to stop. Or, maybe I do know but I just don't want to. Yep, I'm talking about talking.

Yes, logically speaking there is Power with the movements and stuff when it comes to talking. However, I want to talk about other powerful parts of talking as well. The words that you may choose to talk about, and when or when not to talk.

Let's dive in. First of all, let's talk about the words that will come out of a person's mouth who is doing the talking. I know this may be difficult for some people, but it's just the way the Lord said it should be. I'm talking about talking to other people all the time with encouraging words. Yep, God says that the words that come out of your mouth should be encouraging to people.

Another thing I want to include in my writing today is this. Of course, I'm going to add a little something-something for the wives because well, remember I'm a wife. And, I'm pretty sure my advice taken from the Lord's words would help other wives. This is what I'm talking about.

Wives, do you listen when you feel in your heart you should stop talking? Here's what I have to say about that. Your husband is your spiritual leader. Your husband was given to you because God knew he would be perfect for you. Wives, we need to listen to our husbands, because the Lord is speaking to us through them. So, if we do that we are doing what God wants us to do.

Believe me, I am talking from experience. Stop arguing and trying to have to be the winner! Or, be right all the time. Both husbands and wives have our own annoying habits. We need the Lord's help in helping us deal with them We need to be extending grace, and continuing to love and respect them.

Oh, how I wish I would follow my own advice all the time. The cop-out thing to say is, "well, God understands I'm only human!" The wise thing to say and what my husband wants me to say because he tells me is this. He knows it's not a guarantee, but he appreciates me saying I will try my best!

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing

1 Peter 3 1-2

Wives, respect and obey your husbands in the same way. Then the husbands who do not obey the word of God will want to know God. They will want to know God because their wives live good lives, even though they say nothing about God.2 They will see that you live holy lives and respect your husbands.
