I do remember. Seriously, what's coming to mind is this. Some years ago when we were in our old condo a few floors up I was still able to walk and cook while standing up in the kitchen. Well I was using a pink cane. (I miss that thing)
So, I was preparing dinner before Joe came home from work. Random thought- these were the years I really liked to prettify my food so it would be photo ready. Oh let me give a shout out to Brenda! Brenda has always been there complimenting on how good the food is and encouraging me! I still owe her a taste test of one of the many foods I made!
Anyway, back to what I want to get at with my writing. I'm just so thankful to God for what he's done so far.
Yes, I would find comfort laying in my soft and comfortable bed. However, when I first moved into the condo with my husband, I would say this. I kid you not my favorite room in the condo during the day hours and where I really did feel comfortable was the kitchen.
If I knew what was going to be in the future, I probably wouldn't let myself get too comfy. The Lord really knew that that part of my comfortability aspect would someday be gone. And, he also knew that he wouldn't leave me to hang dry.
I didn't completely stop what I love to do. Just doing it a little bit less and sometimes I could use some assistance. But He knew cooking was something I loved and that is why God was on the way for me to still kind of do it. Just goes to show that if God knew we love it, he will usually find a way for us to keep doing what we love!

This kind of makes me think of the Israelites.
Let me end this writing with some words from my daily bread reading last week:
Just as God was providing everything for the Israelites in the wilderness, he provides for us. Everything we have: our car, our family, our money, and our house are from God. So, what is the comfort in your life that you can’t live without? What would happen if God took away your car, downsized your house, or maybe cut your paycheck by a little? Are you going to complain to Him and forget all the things he has done for you in the past? If we are brutally honest about ourselves, we would admit we are just like the Israelites who can get comfortable with a paycheck in the bank and food on the table everyday. Jesus never called us to live a life of comfort.
Look at your life and see if there is anything you can’t live without and ask God to help you rely on him and not that comfy.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
John 15:16 ESV
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
