The Pet

Play for the Audio Version

The other day Glady shared the most humorous story with me! Just thinking about it now makes me start to grin. I want to laugh. This was the story about her loved ones. This was a story about her loved ones pet parrot.

The loved ones were a husband and wife. They would constantly be fighting utilizing "not so nice" words as a means of attack towards each other. Yes, I'm speaking of the famous mean F--- n S---" words and maybe the A word and probably others.

So, bad words would come out of the husband and wife's mouth. And, little did they know they were being recorded by their parrot. Whatever words that their parrot heard would come out when they least expected it too.

When the husband and the wife would have friends come over guess what the parrot would do? You got it! Out of nowhere you would hear the parrot say F this. F you. Can you imagine suddenly hearing you're an a hole from the parrot's mouth? I think you guys get what I'm trying to say.

Those people cussing and swearing probably had no idea. I'm thinking do they even know what parrots can do?

Well, perhaps similar to you guys I knew parrots were a smart bird and I have heard of them speaking words every now and then. So, what do I do? Google to the rescue! And, this is what Google said.... Well maybe I'll just paraphrase. It was a lot!

First of all, there are many different types of parrots. Parrots are individuals so it's really up to them if they want to talk or not.

In the case of Glady's loved ones, those were the types of parrots that chose to talk. Well, mimic their owners when they didn't even know they were listening. Perhaps, they were some parrots from Africa or other foreign country.

What comes to mind now is God. God hears everything even before it comes out of our mouth. God knows what may or may not come out of our mouth. Are we only speaking out words of encouragement to other people?

Or, are the words that come out of her mouth mean, bad, cussing that totally tears people down? Maybe not even cussing, but normal words that have been tweaked into sounding very harsh. What kind of words are coming out of ou lips and out to the public?
