DTFS Promise Series Part 14: Restore From Brokenness

Play for the Audio Version

Good morning everyone! Missed you all yesterday. My bad, it was mine and Joe's 11th year marriage anniversary. I will add some pictures from yesterday at the end of the writing.

Let's Dive In. Today, we're continuing on with the promise series. Promise Series Part 14: Promise to Restore from Brokenness.  I went ahead and asked my Google Assistant for some ways to describe the word Brokenness. One way is "forcibly separated into two or more pieces; fractured: a broken arm; broken glass. 2. Sundered by divorce, separation, or desertion of a parent or parents: children from broken homes; a broken marriage." Yep, those are pretty good ways of explaining the word.

Consider 2 important and very comforting words from the word of God. That is this. God heals the brokenhearted. And, God is near to the Brokenhearted.

As I just mentioned, there are a plethora of ways one can feel broken. However, there's only one way to feel and be restored from losing your cool and falling into brokenness. You guys know what that way is? I think you guys probably know what I'm thinking. Well, if not let me tell you.

God, the Lord Jesus Christ! That is the only way. He is the only way one can get relief and be restored from feeling broken.

Now, what are your deep thoughts about what I said? Do you believe me?
If you guys don't believe me, question is why don't you believe me?

Well, the reality is, that's just how it is. Like I had said many times before. I offer my deep thoughts
and opinions. And, that is where I stop. Then the ball is in your court so to speak. Well, I guess you can say God's Court as well.
Remember, with God we have free will. We have our own minds that develop our own Deep Thoughts about things. The question is this. Are your Deep Thoughts thinking anyting about loving God? Believing who God is? And, trusting that God can restore?

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Psalm 51:17

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise
Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Isaiah 57:15

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in ³ Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

John 12:24

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Psalm 31:12

I have been forgotten like one who is dead; I have become like a broken vessel.
