Broken Promises

Play for the Audio.              Version

Have you guys done that? Well, no you don't have to answer me. You don't need to say anything. As if you even can right? Safe! From getting embarrassed!

I guess I will use myself for an example. Yep, I can take a little embarrassment. You know, since it is for God! Well, I'm not gonna go into specifics.

I am going to write about this particular subject. Because I was just reminded of it. The predicament went something like this.

I really was trying to get something out. I was praying to God to help me. No surprise God helped me get it out.

I think I forgot to mention something pretty important. The other day when I was praying to God asking for help getting that thing out? I kind of said to God.... Well, I really should not say kind of because I did. I said to God this. "Hey God! If you help me get this " Thing out, I promise God that I will never do anything like this again. "

Now, what do you think happened next? Do you guys think Samantha kept her word to God? Well... yesterday morning I did the same thing that I promised God that I would never do again. And, again I asked him if you
help me get it out.....then before I could even say the word, "promise," God made me remember. I broke my promise before.

Do you think He helped me? The answer may be surprising to you. I first thought the answer is no he did not help me. I was able to get it out myself.

I really am not that surprised that he didn't help me. What about you? Would you like to entertain anyone that just broke a promise they just made to you? I know. The sad thing is I don't think it was the 1st time I broke the same type of promise to God. I mean it was the same type of scenario.

Just between us. I think God actually did help me again that morning. I mean He is God! I guess as long as we ask for forgiveness. God forgives the true born again Christian believers who break promises! No matter how much we may break promises.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will forgive us of our sins and will purify us from all unrighteousness.

Matthew 18:21‭-‬22

Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!

Proverbs 25:14

Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of a gift he does not give.

Psalm 89:34

I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips

Numbers 30:2

A man who makes a vow to the Lord or makes a pledge under oath must never break it. He must do exactly what he said he would do.
