How Did I Get Here?

Play for the Audio Version

I am pretty sure that if you are old enough.  You know.  I mean no longer a child with innocent child-like thoughts. Then you know. What is Sam talking about?

I am talking about you knowing how you got here. The biological way and stuff. Aka "The birds and the bees."

However, for today's writing, I am going to look at the question. "How did you get here?" through a different lens. Whatever do I mean?

Maybe you were once married? However, things ended up yucky. And, now you find yourself as a single parent to two kids and a part-time job.

Or, how about this.  You never play the lottery. But, one day you think to yourself, "Hey you only live once!" You end up getting a lottery ticket. Later that evening when they announce the winning numbers, you had them. You just won billions of dollars! But then, a few days later you were struck with horrible news from your doctor. You end up having a terminal illness. You have only weeks to live.

What about if you just had your last review at your job and it was excellent? But, A few days later you find out they are getting rid of your position. You find out you're out of a job.

Now, maybe your thinking you are too young to have to go through all this crap!

You think to yourself, "I am too young for all of this to be happening to me!" Have you guys ever thought of yourselves in a place you never expected? Maybe, you end up thinking "How did I get here?"

What comes to mind is the Bible story of the character Job. The devil was roaming the Earth looking for the next person he was going to devour. God stopped him and said, "have you ever considered my servant Job?  Job was a faithful servant of God.

God told Satan that he can do whatever he wanted to Job. He just needed to spare his life. And, Satan did horrible stuff. Job lost his family members from sudden deaths. Satan damaged Job's body with boils. Satan did much more bad stuff. The question we need to ask is what exactly is Job's reaction to all of this? Please read his story that I attached at:

  1. Job was a faithful man of God. Sometimes God lets the devil do his damage to sharpen us. It's not always pretty. In fact, it's probably ugly more often than not. However, in the end, he won't let us go through things we can't handle. In the end, if we remain faithful, God will bless us a million times over.
