Leadership

 Play for the Audio Version

Would we consider ourselves more of a leader or the follower? Or, maybe you never really thought about that question before. Personally, I never did until recently.

A pretty well known, ( in the public eye) church was asking for volunteers. People who were interested in becoming leaders of an online Bible study group. The idea sparked my interest.

I thought nothing of it for a couple of weeks. Then, the thought of it came to my mind. So I figured maybe I should look more into this stuff. So, I called to find out more about it and the people I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about.

OK, so again I thought it was a red flag and nope wasn't meant to do it. Until, the person I was speaking to wanted to look more into it, and found out what I was talking about. She then directed me to a link where I needed to fill out a form and submit if interested in leadership.

Where am I at now? Well, I have yet to complete filling out the form. I actually completely Forgot about it again.

Until, just yesterday. I was reading my one year Bible for the day. The devotion was on leadership. Am I the only one that can see the Lord does not want me to forget about this opportunity?
So, I asked myself the question I asked you guys earlier. Sam, are you a leader?

Let me share what I read from Bible devotion that day.

"Jesus is more than just a spiritual leader. He gives a practical and effective leadership model for all organizations, for all people, for all situations. You may not think of yourself as a leader, but leadership is about influence. You do have influence, therefore, in a sense, all of us are leaders. (Nicky Gumbel, 1 Year Bible)"

In closing. I think I had a wake up call to complete and submit the form. Don't even know if I am going be picked to lead. However,
I do feel the Lord has layers in my heart to do my part in submitting the form. I gotta start with obedience!

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Philippians 2:3

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves

Proverbs 16:9

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.

Isaiah 48:17

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.
