What? Pray?

.

What comes to your mind when you hear the word pray?  Let me guess are you. thinking about  people sitting in pews at a large church?  These  people that you are thinking about have their eyes closed and their hands folded right? Probably on their knees?

Oh, the setting is not just a big church. But, this church was decorated with statues of Godly people.  Large pretty stained glass windows framed a picturesque nativity scene of the birth, life, and death of Jesus Christ.  Am I close to  figuring out what comes to mind when you hear the word "pray?"

I really do think there are some people.  Some people that probably think like that when they think of the word pray. Are you one of them?p

I definitely do not think those are the right things  that should be coming to our mind when we hear the word pray. Pause break. Wow, that just goes to show how the different traditions? and teachings of a religion is more what the focus on. It seems like that is what is overtaking what prayer is really about.

Friends,  when we hear the word prayer, I really hope  we're not thinking anything religion wise. When we hear the word prayer What we should be thinking about is Jesus Christ. Still do not see a difference? Believe me there is a big difference!

Folks, I think hearing the word pray should bring these kind of thoughts to the mind.  Of course think about and thank Jesus Christ for all he has done . Thoughts of other people and their needs. Thoughts of ourselves and our needs.  Confession to God and asking Him for forgiveness.

If He knows you because you invited Him to come live in your heart, then He will forgive you. But, if God doesn't know you because you never spoke to Him and never invited Him in? Then,  don't be surprised  When he will say  turn away from me because he never knew you!

I think another important part of prayer is this. God is always going to answer our prayers. Yes , he already knows the end result anyway. Even before we even ask.

Why even pray? Well in my  opinion. And, this is not truth. Oh I don't know, it's just my opinion. I think God wants us to pray because of this. I guess I think because God just wants to hear us.
God wants to know that we have faith that he can answer our prayers.

Now, he may not answer t we want him to answer them the way we want. But, His answer will be best for us!  We just need to trust that He answered our prayer the best way he knows how. Let me end by saying this.

Listen to me. Please. The bible says it is by grace you have been saved.  Not by works so No one can boast. You just need to know Jesus. Do you know him?

Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Ephesians 2 8 10

For [it is] by grace you have been saved through faith, and this [is] not from yourselves, [it is] the gift of God, [it is] not from works, so that no-one may boast. For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that in them we might walk.

Romans 7:23

But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Ephesians 6:18

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

 Romans 8:28

Matthew 12:24

You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Proverbs 4:23

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Ephesians 4:29

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Matthew 15:18

But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the

heart, and this defiles a person
