As I have mentioned many times before,I am a married woman. I remember reading my 1year Bible devotional written by Nicky Gumbel. It was about priorities.
How would I rank these things according to order of priorities? Children, husband/wife, ministry, and God. I was a Christian. So, of course I knew how to rank things in the correct order'according to God's plan.
God would be first of course. Then, church followed by my husband Then children. Then, ministry. That sounds about right! RIGHT GOD?
Wrong. Well, kind of. I mean I was right in putting God as my number one, 1st priority. However, I was pretty much Wrong after that. Let me explain.
The correct order of priorities is this. God is 1st of course.Then, my husband. My husband ( my primary calling). Then, children. Finally, ministry, Which in my case is my job with this blog. And, in your case it would be whatever career You have at the moment. The important thing is this. Your ministry? Although very important, your ministry should not be allowed to displace your primary responsibilities.
Wow, I don't know about you guys. However, that was a grea reminder that I needed to be reminded of. Let me end with words from Nicky Gumbel, Author of the 1 Year Bible. "The things which matter most to God should take first place in our lives."Nicky Gumbel "
