my husband, Joe. For several months now, he has been leading our Sunday Bible
study group. Our group name is called " Ohana." That means family in Hawaiian. Nobody gets left behind. That is our goal for when Jesus decides to come back. He got it from the movie, "Lilo and Stitch." Have you seen it?
Ohana meets on Facebook messanger with family from different cities all around America.
Love it! Not only because we are getting more of the word of God in our hearts! But, also it is a way for us to see family more
While the pandemic has been going on, Facebook video messanger has been such a great way to not only communicate/see family and friends. But, also a fun way to study the Bible!
I don't need to tell you guys. All of us can really use some fun right now!
Personally, my husband and I meet with a marital Bible study group on zoom every Wednesday as well! We have been doing that since the beginning of the pandemic. Way before the start of Ohana.
This was orchestrated
by the Harvest Church in Orange County/Riverside California. Joe was just asked to CO lead by the other Joe. Pilot Joe. Pilot Joe is the leader of the group.
Joe is leader of " Ohana"
our Sunday Bible Study group. And, now co-leader of our Wednesday Bible study group with my fellow married couples!
God really has a sense of humour. I think he really wanted us to read and study the Bible a lot more. And, since that was what he wanted? He made a way for that to happen!
Now, what exactly is the moral of the writing for the day? What exactly do I want you to get from the writing for the day. Well, duh the point is always to use the app Facebook! Yeah if you are not using it, I suggest you use it!
Well, no I am kidding. Well kind of. I mean I still promote using Facebook messanger. But, I really have another purpose I want you guys to get from this writing.
And, that is this. It's really important that we read/study the Bible. It may not be just once a week on Sundays at church! I am really meaning I think God wants us to read the Bible how ever many times a week we think it takes to get His words in our heart.
Perhaps, for some people it will take every day. For some people it won't. You're gonna have to talk with God and he will tell your heart. And, your heart will tell you.
Personally, for me I don't read the Bible every day. Ask me if I sometimes feel like my heart is telling me to. And, to that I say sometimes.Yet, I must confess there are times I know l do not listen to what my heart is saying. Why is that? Why don't I read the Bible when I feel like my heart is telling me to? I don't know. Maybe, because of pure laziness.
Yes, I do believe reading the Bible is a good read for our spiritual life.
Should we read the Bible everyday? I say yes and no.
Why do I say that? I say that because everyone is different. What is God telling your heart when it comes to how and what you should do about reading the Bible?
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Romans 15:4
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
