When Satan Tempts?
Have you guys ever thought about that? Fellow Christians, ever think why that is? You know what? Perhaps, you may be thinking about it right at this moment? Or, maybe right before you started to read/listen to my writing you were thinking about it?
Then, I stopped you dead in your tracks! So to speak. Did I leave you thinking, "How did Sam know?"
Well, to that I say this. I didn't know. God knew. And, that's why God put in my mind to write about this today. And, God put in your mind to check out Sam's reading for the day. I call it our divine appointment!
Back to what I was saying. We've all been there. I mean to reiterate we might be there right now.
I am pretty sure we kind of know the answer. However, we still end up asking God why? We also ask Satan why? Why are you tempting us?
My thoughts? My Deep Thoughts?
First, off Satan is bad. Satan is really bad. We all know that. Well, we should know that.
Another thing we should know is this. This evil one is smart. He too has a little power. Definitely not nearly as much as God. His denonic desire of matching the power of God is what made him "the fallen angel" he is known as. For the full elaboration on that, I will save that story for another writing.
Today, my focus is on the why. The evil one tempts us. See, he knows our vulnerabilities. He sees our nonverbal actions.
Friends, he does see when we are acting strong in our faith. He also sees when we are weak. Those are the times he will strike.
For example, maybe you are trying to stop drinking. Like I said, the evil one knows our vulnerabilities. Don't be surprised if you suddenly find yourselves stuck in situations where the action to drink has become a heavy temptation.
See, the evil one doesn't have the power to make one sin. However, he does all he can and says all he can to make you fall into
temptation. Don't let him get to you. Tell out loud the evil one to flee from you. And, he will.
Make sure you open your mouth and say something! He can't hear your thoughts. That's why we must verbally renounce evil!
Matthew 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Jeremiah 43:3
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that yaou have not known
Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil
1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Is there any verse in The Bible about God giving Satan power? I'
