Advantage Of Prayer

Play For The Audio Version

I am back to give some shout outs.  Wow,  I haven't said that in a while. Just got back from the animal hospital. Chewee got his 1st physical and met some awesome nice Ladies that took such good care of him!
Thank you ladies for accepting my card! I hope you will be encouraged by the writings! Hello again to Stephanie, Nefi, and Dr. Flanagan!  Have a wonderful weekend!

I know I have talked about prayer before. I guess I need to speak about it again.  You know since that is what I feel the Lord has put in my heart to speak about this morning.  Let me 1st ask you guys some questions.  Just so you can ponder over.

Do you believe in praying, to Jesus?  Do you pray to Jesus? Do you trust His answer to your prayers?

Well, my 1st question is do you believe in praying to Jesus? I think what ever your answer is to this question will definitely affect your answer to the next question. ( Do you pray to Jesus?) Because if you believe in praying to Jesus? Then, of course  you would answer  yes to praying to Jesus.

If your answer is no, you do not believe in praying to Jesus? Then, your answer would be no, you don't pray to Jesus. Make sense?

My last question was do you trust his answer to your prayers. Before I give my thoughts on my final question,  I wanted to share a story with you guys.

It took place many many years ago. It was when I 1st became a  born again Christian believer. So, I'm going back to when I was 15 years old. I remember I was regularly attending this new church.  My parents didn't really think  anything bad of my new found faith activities. However, just the fact I started going to another church, not the same one they went to is what  raised their eyeb rows.

I remember there was this one activity that was about to take place. There was  a ski trip coming up. I remember  feeling like I really wanted to go. However, I also remember feeling like " my parents are not gonna let me go."

I remember my new Christian friends were saying they will pray and others will as well. And, I should too. I remember thinking " wait why should I pray? What did I do wrong?"  At that time I remember I only had to pray when I did something wrong.

At that time  I also thought that the only time God would hear my prayers was if I was talking to him at a church. So,   I was thinking I would always have to go back to the church when I prayed? To my surprise, my new friends prayed for me like if I was on the phone with them or if they were over at my parents home.

Wow, just thinking back to how I used to think about prayer?  Totally wrong way of thinking!   Thank you God that I got that straightened out!

Now, let me offer my thoughts on the last question.  Let me first direct you to my thoughts on prayer from a past writing I did on the subject. http://deepthoughtsfromsamantha.blogspot.com/2020/06/yack-acts.html?m=1

Do you trust in God's answer to  your prayers? Actually, let me word that as should you trust in God's answer to your prayers?  Interesting question huh?

The short and very obvious answer is yes. Why? Because God will always know what's best for us!  It may not make you happy. It may end up hurting you bad.

We have to end up praising God!  To reiterate, God knows what's best! However, No matter the outcome?  We always have  to end up praising God! God knows what's best for us all the time.

Let me end with some encouraging words from pastor Greg. Laurie!  One time I remember him saying that God can answer prayers in 3 ways.Yes, No, and Wait!!"   I don't know about you guys? However, I think that the hardest of those 3 is to wait! Oh, I get it. Makes perfect sense. I can be pretty impatient sometimes. So, I guess God is working on my patience by often making me wait! Sometimes I wish God wouldn't do that so much. I definitely think those are the times Philippians 4:13 could really be of some help!

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through  Christ who gives me strength
